" For Sale" '74 MX-15 $50

winter

Active member
I think the CL ad expired, but locally i found a 74 MX15 that may soon see the bad side of a chop saw. The boat is gutted out except for the steering wheel and gauges. Overall it looked pretty sound though the green metal flake lost its clear. The only bad area is a soft spot high on the transom. To me, it looks like a great starter project. No trailer, needs to go soon. I can help get it out of there if you need. located in Alburtis Pa. Email the seller.... thecrowchristy84@yahoo.com

MX

Did you see pics of that boat?
Makes me wonder why someone would leave it sitting and not do anything with it....
That boat is awesome if it is solid. Green flake with the black sunburst...I think it looks sharp as hell!!

God damn it this is why I don't go on this site. Someone go get it or I will have to drive 7 hours each way to do it. There is no way I am going to let that thing get thrown out or cut up.

Goin this morning to get it!!

It will be in my shop tonight when I get it home from PA :D

Good for you! Way too good to waste! ??Hey, is that an '88 or '89 Bayliner (with an AK1 on the windshield) on the hill next to the camper?? What-a-ya think??

Was that a slam for the site? Geez, I would think that you would help us out a bit here....I admit sometimes spending $220 for gas to pick up a $50 boat for some people is a lot, but don't bash the "team" , just the players :D

BTW, I drove 10 hrs one way which turned out to be more like 28hrs round trip. Friggin PA snowstorms and idiot drivers!! PA roads and streets are crazy-no set pattern. Got lost a couple times using mapquest...My kid was funny, he knew I was lost and just kept givin me sideglances and tellin me "we been here afore!" I just got home at 8:30 this morning...I am bushed

The boat is nice, needs less than some "nicer" ones I have done gotta leave it in the shop to thaw so i can tell what is spongy and what was frozen....tapped all over it last night and it is solid as a rock....most likely any wood that is water wet is frozen.....LOL

Inline, don't take it personal, I am a little cranky right now. I still need some MX15 rubrail insert if you come across any. A windshield would be neat, too or any leads to getting a low-pro made.

Kary- man, I just threw away some black insert from my CM tunnel project that I had laying around. The boat looks great. Lets see some better pixs. If it was closer I would have bought it just for the hardware. Good luck.

Well I'll be!!! I thought i was nuts driving to MI from Pa. for a 92 Persuader!! You did it for a $50 MX15!! Chit, if i wasn't away all day, i woulda came and helped you load it up and bought you a good Pa beer. Glad it worked out, i was really thinking of getting it myself. I told the owner that if no one buys it, give me 'last rights', i'll take it. Hey, PA roads are just fine. It's those dern 8 mile straight-away upper MI roads that tempt you to drive 90mph in a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and get pulled over by the local copper! He was a nice guy though, knocked the ticket down to 70 :D

I am glad you posted it

Been looking for a green one since I sold my Boss Moss green Vector. The green on the MX is the right "wild" I have been looking for. Thanx for posting that and saving another Check from dissappearing.
The gauges are not what they seem. The speedo is liquid-filled(water-not peformance....LOL) The helm is pitted a little, but will be reused. I need to get a ride-guide cable setup and that shoud be good. There is some roughness on the deck, but I will be takin care of that. This thing needs nothing but possibly transom and floor, then clear gel. My 70 is rated for 150 and this one is rated for 95-what the heck...I am sure a 150 is goin on it.

Winter, I coulda used that beer....LOL It was kind of a Banzai trip and we needed to get home. I may be heading back. He has a MAxum with a small block ford for $100. BUT not right away...
Well, I am off to the shop now to winterize it......LMAO

Sounds tempting to head your way.
Give me a call 517-736-4523

I got the Mate pressure washed. She had a lot of road salt n grime on her. I will let it dry and get pics tomorrow. I ordered green flake today for it. I already have gallons of clear so the hull will be easy to spray. The floor is solid as hell, but will come out anyway to do the transom. Anyway, I think this is the wrong forum for now. I will post pics and resto in another forum.

Good deal again, i'm stoked for ya! A tower of power will work nicely, My old Mx16 had one and it was a screamer. Tough to keep level, but boy did it cook!
