    Congrats on becoming a Grandfather! Probably better you go fishing and give mommy and baby a rest. Now on the fillter are you sure you have the hoses on the right In and Out fittings? If you accidentally get them swapped you will have that problem, dont ask me how I know that one!:rof:

    80 mph

    Hate to say it but your probably going to need more HP to hit 80. Best improvement for speed is going to be more setback. I was running a 200hp Evinrude 8" setback and 72 was all I could get and I was 2' shorter. Im at 10" setback now with a 225HO (247hp)and am at a tad over 80 now. Not saying...

    Salt water outboard - bad??

    Like everyone said chech the anodes if they arent all eaten up and the bolts under the cowling arent all rusty I wouldent have a problem getting it.

    What Battery?

    I have always had good luck with the Sears DieHards. Also the Academy stores here in the south have some pretty good 1000cca batterys and they seem to last quite a while. I am anal about batterys and replace mine every other season just because I dont like to take a chance of being stranded...

    faria guage question

    I have had a Faria speedo in my boat for a little over 15 years. It's about 5mph optimistic at 80 but it is a good quality guage.If I had the $$ I would replace all my others with Faria's. :thumb:
