Anyway selling my 1978 Tri mate bowrider hull. Good title, no motor, trim pump or shifter. Just the hull. Needs paint and don't have...

    Can you buy a hull?

I'm struggling pretty bad trying to strip my hull for a repaint. It must have some industrial paint or something on it, I've never encountered automotive paint this tough. Can you buy a hull from Checkmate? No motor, no trailer, no interior just a new painted hull? Anybody got a decent ORIGINAL...

    I need more help

OK, I've found a guy who is going to media blast my hull. I'm taking the motor off today as well as stripping everthing left off the boat. Here's my question. The wiring is a mess so I'm going to start all over. It also has an aftermarket throttle/shifter. The key start, choke, and trim are all...

    Sandblasting my hull

Oh yeah! Somebody painted the WHOLE boat! It's very rough. I'm unhooking the motor now. Got the hydralic and electrical unhooked. What's the trick to the throttle and shift linkage? 1978 Tri-mate II

    Sandblasting my hull

Has anybody ever had thier hull blasted with a mild media such as baking soda or walnut shells? I started to sand the previous owners "paint job" off and it's thick and tough! It's about the thickness of a quarter with glitter thrown in the clear for good measure. After 20 years of redoing cars...

    removing a 70's mercury 150

I went to dealer today and bought the lifing eye so I can remove engine from boat. How do you disconnect the electrical plug at the engine? It is round and the wires sit in a hook on the outside of the lower unit. Does the round plug just pull straight out or do I rotate it and pull? What...

    17' check on ebay

The seats are gone! First thing to go. They will look just fine in my buddy's jon boat (where they belong). Bought a double axle trailer yesterday to put her on when done. I'm sanding her down this weekend, well I'm just starting to sand! Dave 1978 Tri-mate II

    17' check on ebay

I'd love some pictures. I'm not able to "restore" it for now. I'm going to do a nice paint job and new interior and just enjoy for now. Maybe I'll restore it factory correct when I have another boat to take it's spot. I need some time for my Mopars too! 1978 Tri-mate II

    Bought my first Checkmate!

Rough isn't she? Need to find some captains seats. I'm going to build front benches. Any info on where to find a good selection of new captain seats? 1978 Tri-mate II
