    Thanks for the advice. The boat has been sitting inside for fifteen years, I have had the motor rebuilt and the gas tank flushed. Got to thinking about the drain plug and did not want to chance it being bad. It is a rubber flap style and is supposed to drain the water while in motion. I need to...

    I am a new member and new to your forum. Recently purchased a 1977 Checkmate VI. It has a baffle(?) drain plug. Is this original and should it be replaced? I have tried to remove it but it does not unscrew. Can it be replaced with a regular screw in drain plug? :brickwall:
