    Oh, have you checked on a used, they don't make them anymore, Merc 250XB? You can get them cheap, they push about 270+ prop HP and hold up very well. They do suck up a lot of gas though!

    You should get a solid 270 HP with some mods. The motor can be a reliable motor and better balanced for a lot less then buying a 300. As mentioned call Simon, he can tell you how his motors are better then production motors. Of couse you can get more HP, I can't say how that added output effects...

    You would be better off with a 12" setback. Where are you located as I've got a few LUs and mids in the shop being checked out before I sell them. I got them cheap and will sell them cheap, most have LW pick-ups.

    Chris, is there some way of cutting and pasting a picture of a Checkmate in action onto a shirt? I've seen some great shots that really show off the mates speed and performance. I feel that just having a logo and a simple image doesn't say enough.

As stated most want you to put in writiing that your 225 looper that you want to crank up to 300 hp will not go on a boat rated for less HP.
