    " For Sale" 1980 Checkmate Enticer - $2500

I bought this boat two years ago from the son of the original owner. Floor and transom are solid, as the boat has always been garaged. Absolutely would love to keep this boat but I'm getting married and need the money. Located in Kansas City - Roeland Park, KS. 90 Hp 2.5 liter 6 cyl Mercury...

Mounting sub woofer box in the bow?

Keith, inaccurate word choice on my part! Through the FLOOR haha DropTop, I was thinking of using liquid nails to do just that, if I don't end up just screwing it down. I'm planning to run the system off a separate battery and just putting a charger on it at night because I don't want to...

Mounting sub woofer box in the bow?

Thanks fellas. If there's a clever way to mount it without drilling through the hull I'm all for it. Otherwise, Keith's solution is too simple to pass on. I was thinking I saw a pic on here a while back of a bracket someone had made to mount a speaker box in the same place, but can't recall if...

Mounting sub woofer box in the bow?

I'm in the process of upgrading my Checkmate Enticer's stereo (from battery powered boombox!) to an in dash system with two 6.5" speakers and a 10" sub woofer to be mounted under the bow. What is a good way to secure the speaker box to the hull, in the "point" of the bow? The triangle shaped...

May 2012's Boat of the Month Vote!

Add another unofficial vote for Doug A's vintage MX18. Alas, I am a second class checkmate-boats citizen without the right to vote. Can I at least get 3/5 of a vote?

I accidently tried to kill my prop and skeg today....

I did the same thing last summer. Picked up a chrome skeg guard at bass pro for about $100 to fix it. The bonus is that they look cool.

    1984 Checkmate Enticer

For another reference point - my Enticer is a 1980 with no rot and in overall 'good' condition with a 1982 90 hp mercury with 500 hrs (when purchased). No jack plate and standard aluminum prop. I paid $2250 for it last fall in the Kansas City area. Good luck with the sale, and let's see some pics.

1981 Enticer . Day one of Demolition

Thanks for posting this! My Enticer has the beer cooler built into the back row of seats but otherwise is very similar. Keep those pics coming and good luck on the project!!

Got caught in a crazy storm today

Those are great stories!! When such things happen to lesser men, they sell their boats and talk about how the two best days on a boat owner's life are when they buy the boat and when they sell it. Quitters never win, and winners just keep on truckin!

Got caught in a crazy storm today

Took the 1980 Enticer out to Smithville Lake (MO) on a beautiful Sunday morning with a buddy, and by about 2:00 pm saw a massive black cloud wall headed my way. It came very fast. It was coming from the general direction of the marina and I didn't have time to get back without driving though the...

    Loving it!

Wow, five hundred is a steal for sure. I'll have to look you up when I do that same project. I've been checking craigslist for a good motor on a rotten boat but the only steals I've found are for 200 hp mercs...that might be a bit much haha. Would love to go 150 hp though.. Your boat looks...
