1984 Checkmate Enticer

Hi All, I have a 1984 Checkmate Enticer I am an on verge of selling. I was hoping to get some feedback on what a fair price may be. I was thinking $3,000 for the boat and an additional $300 for a bow mount Minn Kota Trolling motor, quick mount plate, and new battery/case that goes with, as well as several accessories for tubing.

The boat is in excellent condition and the 115HP V4 Evinrude runs very strong.

Thanks in advance for any feedback you can provide. (or if you want to make an offer) I'd post a picture but I don't know how, I just joined this forum.

I am located just north of Milwaukee, WI.

Thanks!
Corey

really depends on the condition, but i think you're in the ballpark with 3000 if its in good shape and it doesnt have any rot. Hope you didnt drill holes in the bow for that trolling motor :pissed:, ive got four stainless bolts on the bow of my enticer from where someone put a trolling motor on it.

I know if i was gonna sell mine i would list it for 4500 or 4000, but it is certified non-rotted, has a newer merc v6 with jackplate and fancy prop, and I bet id get 3500 for it haha :brickwall:

I'm with Teamhart2, mine is dry, garaged, jackplate, hydraulic steering, and in really good shape. And has run in the 60's. I think i'd want $4k for it.

I agree with teamhart also.
Mine is a 1980, new upholstery in recent years, 90's 135hp V6 Merc, jack plate, hydraulic steering, hotfoot.
Since buying, I've got a bimini (removable), and it will have a ski pole soon also.

I paid $3500 (knew it was a bargain when I saw it), and would price it at $4k once I decide to sell in the future. But to be honest I think I'll always have it - or until the son/daughter are old enough to take it.
The metal flake does it for me...

For another reference point - my Enticer is a 1980 with no rot and in overall 'good' condition with a 1982 90 hp mercury with 500 hrs (when purchased). No jack plate and standard aluminum prop. I paid $2250 for it last fall in the Kansas City area. Good luck with the sale, and let's see some pics.

Attached link to photobucket where I placed placed pictures of the boat I am considering selling...I did drill 4 holes in the bow to mount the quick mount plate, it was painful to do but my interests have shifted to more fishing than pleasure riding and I could never convince my wife to buy a 2nd boat more just for fishing, so drill it was!

Everything on the boat is in working order and in good shape, the aluminum prop is a little dinged up but otherwise all is well.

I've got someone who has committed to buying it for $3,000 without trolling motor, spare battery, and accessories for tubing, with accessories it would be $3,300....after seeing some of the replies I think this is probably a fair price. I bought the boat in 2001 for $5,300 and have only used it sparingly.

Thanks for the input all!

Regards,
Corey

Nice boat and really nice trolling motor. alot of people on here will not like the trolling motor or trailer. But I like you use my boat for many different hobbies. If I had a bow rider I would have to add a trolling motor because like you I cannot have two boats. good luck with the sale.

looks pretty good, I think if you can get 3000 for it thats not a bad start. Could prolly get a few more bones out of it if you polished it up, 3000 isnt bad for a boat that old, especially if it hasnt had any resto work done on the wood
