    Well I sanded it down by hand today and to good news is that it is only in the gel. The glass looks fine with no signs of cracking or fracture.     I have an 87 with the side opening vinyl cooler covers. you can see them a bit in the photo I took when I first got the boat. EDIT: not to be mean or anything but it is actually Starflite not Starflight. This can help with google searches and stuff as it is a common mistake.
