    1988 Sportfire I/O

Friend asked me list his 88 19' Starfire on the board for him. He is the third owner since new and the boat is in phenomenal condition. All three owners are freinds of each other and I know all three personnally. Second owner was a very meticulous mechanic. 5.7 Mercruiser 260hp, Alpha drive...

    New England Get Together?

pony3xp I plan on getting back there again this year. I get over to Sebago at least 8-10 times a season. Hopefully I won't have any engine issues this year. Looks like I should be running 550-575 hp this year after fixing last years screw ups. We'll see how it goes. When you say you are on...

I need a little help again Vinny, others!!

I haven’t been around the board much over the summer, but that’s another issue, I did have a great time at Sebago, looking forward to next year. So here’s the problem in a nutshell. I experienced a sudden power loss while throttling up after a 30-minute cruise through a no wake zone. Heard all...

    New England Get Together?

I'll be up for the weekend at my place on Ossipee so any of the weekend days are good for me. We should plan on Saturday. I'll be at the ramp by 9:00 am in Standish. We should all meet up at the sand bar at the entrance to the Songo River. You can pick up a map of the lake at any of the boat...

    New England Get Together?

OK, I know it's been awhile. I've finally got the boat back together, new power installed, full hydraulic steering etc and got most of the bugs worked out. I only have about 1 1/2 hours on it but everything seems to be running perfect. Family issues squared away, work has settled down, and...

    There goes my summer!!

Vinny, That really bites!!! I was just feeling good myself, I finally got the motor in and ran it for the first time last weekend. Right now everything seems perfect but I've only got about 1 1/2 hours on it. Between work and family issues I haven't had much time for the boat and its been...

    MSD Ignition question

Disregard last, I meant it was 10 ga, switch wires are 6 & 8 ga.

    MSD Ignition question

Thanks for the help. I've run the 12 ga wire from the box to the battery switch (run of only about 3 1/2-4 feet) and the negative directly to the battery (again only about 3 feet). Switch is fused and everything should be fine (I hope).

    MSD Ignition question

Thanks Vinny, I have to believe there is some type of draw even if the ignition is off, however slight. I'll wire it to the battery switch.

    MSD Ignition question

I'm running a MSD 6M-2 ignitoin w/the MSD Pro Billet Distributor (PN 8560) on my new 502. I ran this same ignition setup on my previous 454. My question concerns the power line for the ignition box. MSD calls for the red power wire to be connected directly to the battery which is the way I...
