    Lake Norman Fun Run 8/18?

I've heard rumors that there will be a fun run poker run at Lake Norman, NC on 8/18, but I haven't been able to find any solid info. Does anyone know if this is legit ant can provide more info?

    Prop shops - Trophy Plus

I know Boger used to be recommended as a great prop shop that really knew how to set up a Trophy Plus for a Checkmate, but it appears that they are no longer in business (website no longer works). Any other recommendations? I've heard DAH is good also.

    Enchanter Weight

For info. regarding a '79 Enchanter, check the Gallery & Showroom forum and find the '79 brochure (I'm pretty sure it's there). I have an '83 O/B (you don't say whether you have I/O or O/B). The O/B was a fairly fast, rugged hull for the time (it won a couple of events in '78/79 as documented in...

    3.0 on a 2.4 midsection/LU

Will a mid 90's 3.0 powerhead bolt on to a 2.4 midsection/LU? Are the driveshaft splines the same? Thx

    To wing it or not?

While it would probably generate positive lift at the speeds you're talking about, a typical airplane wing generates it's best lift at a positive angle of attack (about 12 deg. if I remember right). At that angle of attack and enough surface area to generate noteworthy lift, it would probably...

    customizing my enchanter

If I understand you correctly (opening starting between the two front seats and running towards the rear seat), I'm surprised it doesn't have one already. That's where the ski locker is in my '83. Certainly if you don't know what's underneath the floor, I would not cut it since it there may...

    GEL COAT FIX

If you had sky blue, I could have told you what pre mixed color from Fiberglass Coatings Inc. was equivalent (I had it colormatched). Sorry I can't help with your blue. Like I said, you can get pretty close, but it's tough to get an exact match.

    GEL COAT FIX

The kits work fine, but it can be pretty tough coming up with the right pigment combination needed to match your existing color. Which blue do you have(sky blue?).

new here, what ya think of the boat and rooster tail?

First off, Hubert, a rooster tail is that fan of water being thrown up by the engine behind the boat in the photos above (looks kind of like the profile of a rooster's tail). With regards to the statement of more speed in the boat, I think what 175checkmate means is that either 1) the trim is...

    1985 Enchanter

The replacement capacity plate I got from Checkmate for my '83 says 235hp. If you look at the 1986 brochure in "The Showroom", it says the same.

    Joe's E-Bay Enchanter!

I have an '83 and I'd say it's definitely an Enchanter, given the size, the dash and the "lightning bolt" design behind the rear seat.

    Set up ?

You're right about the water pressure gauge. A height of 2-3 below the pad is unlikely to cause trouble, but with a hydraulic jackplate he could go higher than that without realizing it. You want to see a minimum of 10 psi at speed, 15 would be better. My boat is an '83 Enchanter, 8" of...

    Set up ?

Others with experience with this particular boat will probably chime in later; but from what I've seen for Predictors, the Enticer would probably use 6-8" of setback (I'd probably start with 6" since an Opti would be a little heavier than a standard 2cycle). Engine height would probably be the...
