  • Hi Peter, sorry I have not logged on in a while.....
Yes the Senators are a bit heavy in the back with bigblocks.... Checkmate added a little lip or turn down at the transom between the outer two strakes to give more stern lift only on the bigblock senator boats.
My boat rides very well, but with the large pad on the bottom it does not land softly in big water.
I do a lot of prop testing, so depending on what prop I use , the on plane time will vary. But the bow does raise quite a bit on initial take off, I just takes a few seconds to plane out.
I see if I can post some photos later.
Peter, tell me what brand supercharger are you using? Prop? rpms? speed?
    Later, Andrew
Thanks for the response to my question.Iwould like to see pictures of that big block, how does she ride? Ioften thought about going with a big block but I heard from checkmate that they were a little heavy for the senator. do you experience much bowrise during takoff? how long to plane?
Hello Peter, I am not sure how many Senators came with big block engines. But I have known of several in my area over the years. The guys at Checkmate might be able to give you an answer, they would be happy to chat with you on the phone.
YOur supercharged 350 must go great!
    Thanks for the note, ANdrew
