    distrbuitor problem

the boat is a 1994 genesis it "had" a 3.0lx in it (stock) somebody swapped it to a 1987 2.5L 151ci 120hp at some point. the problem I am having is that the rotor and cap dont seem to fit this distributor correctly, the cap might be ok but the rotor barley makes contact and gauges the plastic on...

    Alternator question

350 mag, 1992.. I got another alternator thats internally regulated, I understand that I have to hook up he 2 obvious wires but what do I do with the red and purple "plug in" wires that came from the old externl regulator? jumper tham? tape them up? will this even work? Thanks..

external voltage regulator and alternator problem

Noticed my alternator was putting too much voltage to my battery, checked it with my multimeter to confirm it.. I took off the external regulator to get another one, found a few online and I was planning to buy one in a week or so. I put my regulator back on just to keep it all together and i...

    exhaust silencing options

Well I guess all the drunks and idiots can be out all night yelling, crashing and blaring they're ****ty music without any problems.. If I can't make it quieter for $100 or less I am not touching it.. LOL

    exhaust silencing options

yea if i dont rig some sort of silencing on the exhaust I am sure they will be out again. I will do some home work on those test's to see if its properly performed (if or when). Mine would sound like a weed wacker compared to a BB jet boat. funny because there has been some of those obnoxsiouly...

    exhaust silencing options

I did talk to the SGT up at the police station and she said it has to be 90 decibels @ idle from 3ft, I am sure its not that loud.. I was just gonna avoid this mullet headed prick this year by muflling the idle a bit..

    exhaust silencing options

I have a Persuader 202 with a swim platform built into the hull, unless its on the trailer u cant really see the exhaust. Its just a stock 350 mag. I love the way it sounds, most people do too but there is always one dick head hater who cant handle it.. I even put the baffles back in the pipes...

    exhaust silencing options

Without spending $2,000 on captains call exhaust can i run some tubes from my thru-hull tips down in the water to quiet the engine? When its on plane it will probally still have noise which is fine, my idle is loud and I had some asshole callin the cops on me last year..I seen a guy on youtube...

    Ignition problems solved

LOL.. I just went through the same thing, I had swapped the coil for "eliminating the obvious" for a problem I was having, forgot to switch it back.. Boat ran crappy couldnt get back to my top end speed.. read a mercruiser manual and it basicly says thunderbolt wont work well with other coils...

    350 camshaft

Thats cool thanks.. I have seen 2 bolts hold up to some sh*t as well, I have had a ton of mustangs that I have done up.. I have read things and been on other sites and everybody kind of contridicts eachother about these things.. Its really my first decent boat, I want to do a few things to it...

    350 camshaft

Basicly my understanding of a marine's lower end is like a big truck or RV, you probaly will never find a 2 bolt main big truck or RV engine.. They require the lower to stand up to the loads of torque and from heavy towing demands etc.. Boats need that beefyness aswell becasue of the torque...

    350 camshaft

intersting, I have been told all marine engines from factory are 4 bolt mains... maybe the one you yanked out wasnt a factory engine or something or maybe i was misinformed.. I wish you had some cam numbers, I looked at summits website and they have a few for the engine, I want to go with the...
