Biggest Pulsare 2000 engine

What engine have you put on your Pulsare 2000? 225, 250? Has anyone tried a 300XS? My 225 Opti runs 74mph GPS. What is the max speed we can get front this hull?

I had a 225 ProXS which is allegedly kickin' out about 240 hp (experts please confirm) on the back of a 2000BR and I got 75.4 gps out of her, but there was more there. I ran out of lake and driving ability. I figured I would wait until more seat time to get a personal best out her, but never got the opportunity to let it rip again in the right conditions and then sold the boat. Robert's Marine had a 250XS on the back of one and he turned out 80+ on the gps. Top rated HP is only 250, I believe. 300HP would be sick. There has been some debate on here that the 2000 is the faster hull, but limited by HP. Once again, I defer to the experts, confirm or debunk.

Maybe I could do a 300xs with the same setup as my 21's and hit 100!! How cool would that be?

BRILLIANT!

DO IT! I'll let you use my boat for the test bed if I can keep the motor.;)

Sam, careful what you ask for. If Wildman did it to your boat, and it hit 100mph, you would be begging him to sell you the set up and doing what ever it took to come up with the money. Of course you would have the only 100mph O/B check.

2000 at 84?

dhawkins: What engine did you run the 2000 at and get 84?

All: So far, it does not sound like anyone has heard/seen of a 300 on a 2000 yet (BR or LD).

Do we think the transom is any weaker on a 2000 (vs 2100) or is the 250 HP rating just product positioning from the factory?

I think the 20 will hold a 300xs without a problem. The problem is that the coast guard only rates it for a 250. I would have no problem running it for myself, but because of liability and being a dealer, I can't sell one that way. You know how it goes! If someone hurts themselves, it's never thier fault! They always gotta sue someone.

the biggest problem you are going to run into is finding a dealer that will install the engine for you. in ontario, you can sign an "over-powered boat agreement" however, the liability should something happen will fall on the technician that installs it. so, most techs won't do it.

not to mention how your insurance companies don't like overpowererd boats.

as far as the boat goes, i wouldn't think twice about putting a 300 on that hull, it would be fine strength wise.

now, having said all that, i do no of a tech that probably would install it for you, and if you shoot me an email i will send you his name. but honestly, i wouldn't let him fix my toilet.
