Well after a long search & trying to hunt down the owner of the boat in this thread, looks like Sat. is the day I go get it.

http://checkmate-boats.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19043

Original owner of the boat & sounds like it is in great condition. It took me a week of Google Maps searching to get the owners contact info & were it was stored. Not sure what I am gonna do as far as motors go. May rebuild whats on there or update to a newer Merc 225/250. Gonna be a long drive & then right into storage it goes LOL. I will post pics of it once I get home.

Looks to be in great shape for a 1995 ... the hunt was well worth it !!!!

Take Care and have a safe trip

I am suppose to head to buffalo ny to pic up jazzy's 242 conincor tomorrow it will be around an 18-20 hour trip and I'm like u pick it up bring it home and straight to storage for winter

Made it home early Sunday AM was long trip but worth it. Boat is really clean with some nice extras. Has manual jackplate, hydro steering & about $800 worth of Alpine stereo. Pulled great behind my 3/4 Suburban at 75mph all way home. Gonna clean up the interior as has been under cover outside for 2 months. Today I will inspect the motor more & figure out what to do there.

Looks good, did it take all of $7500?

I did end up paying close to that but think its worth it especially since its very clean boat with some nice extras. Even if I need re-power it I think it will be a good buy.

NICE!!! I'm glad it went to someone on this board who will appreciate it. I will try to collect a finder's fee from the boat repair place next season. LOL I wanted to get it to keep up at the lake house in MN but my wife was not having any of that. :( Guess we'll be towing the Starflite again next year.....

When I stopped to look at the boat I pulled the plug to let the standing water out. There wasn't much but I figured the problem was only going to get worse. Did you find it? I think I left it in a cup holder or maybe right on top of the back seat.

Enjoy it and be sure to post pics of the repower/repair and when you get it on the water.

Thanks for the info on getting/finding the boat & pulling the drain plug:bigthumb:. I did find the plug. Kinda sad that it sat outside for 2 months but it did clean up luckily. I dried out the transom/carpet as soon as I got it home. Just got the center portion of windshield sent to me by the owner also so that was nice.
