186 Pulse Top Speed

Looking at a 186 Pulse with no motor. Found a nice 150 Merc. It says this boat weighs 1450 lbs. How fast would this run setup good with a 150HP motor? Or keep looking for a 200HP motor. Top speed #s with a 200 Hp?

A member here (fiftyp) has 186 Pulse w/ 200 hp runs 73 on gps. I would guess with a 150hp in the low 60's.

Yup...60

I have a Pulse 186 with a 150efi, I had a 22 laserII that was nice for speed but aweful for skiing/tubing, the laserII would get up to low 60's. I sold the laserII and got a trophy plus 23, better for skiing/tubing but a tick slower on the top end.

Buy the boat, I love my Pulse. I have a 175, not sure about top speed, but it is fast enough to be fun. If it were me, I would hold out for a 200.

200 would be optimal...

Yup, if I ever re-rig the boat I would go with a 200. The 150 is nice and I can load it up with 3 people in the cockpit and 2 people on a tube and still get it done but it sure seems to work alot harder with the 150.

I have the Exciter w/a slightly massaged Evinrude 200XP. I would wait for a 200hp. With my 200 I am getting 74.5mph on gps
