186 Pulse

I'm looking at upping the power on my 186 Pulse. I see one on here runs in the low 90's with a 280. My motor needs a sleeve so I figure I might as well have the Merc ground on as well. To keep it reliable I was thinking in the 240-250 hp range. I think that should break 80 with that. Since I'm new to Checkmates do you think that will do it?
thanks.

You'll need a butt load of setback and then the next question is how strong is your transom and how long are your steering cables?

ok, decided not to go crazy with power, and put on a fresh 225 promax.
I have 6" of set back and will add more this winter.
what is a good starting prop? I was thinking a 24 or 26 chopper or et.
any comments?

Too far from you Larry Hanlon!
You brought your Skater to my place one weekend a few years ago. Is that enough of a hint to figure out who i am?
