1976 15 foot checkmate bass boat with a 85hp

that is what is listed in the advertisment... did cm really make bass boats?
 
any real value other than it is a checkmate? they are asking $600 for b/m/t - mercury motor needs some work it says but it runs. thanks coop, im heading down to the area it is in today to visit family.
