1976 19' Checkmate jetmate

I just got my Jetboat and the guy I got it from said he had gone overseas and when he came back the one of the freeze plugs was out of it. He also told me he had ran it on the lake this past year and had winterized it for this past winter, but the freeze plug was out. It has a 455 Olds w/ Jaccuzzi pump. Can I use one of the rubber type freeze plugs? He also showed me where to hook up the water hose so I could run the motor out of the water. My question is does the water have to have a lot of pressure or just a little and will the water exit through the Jacuzzi pump?
I've had inboard\outboards before, but not with a jetpump. I would post some photos of my boat, but haven't been able to figure out how too. :shakehead:
Thanks

The J-pump sucks the water from the lake and provides water to the engine. The water exits threw the exhaust. Its not a good idea to run it long at all out of the water on a hose. The wear ring in the pump requires lube from the water from the lake. A freeze plug does not fall out unless its rotton or froze

Thanks,
Yea I know a freeze plug usually only pops out if frozen, just like a regular car engine. The one he showed me looked a little rusty around the edge and I'm hoping even if it did freeze that the plug popped out before causing any block damage. I haven't checked the engine oil for water yet, meant to do that today and got to busy too.
So the water exits through the exhaust and not the pump? Does the pump always run when the engine is running, no neutral?
Thanks, I appreciate all the info and help.

yes its turing all the time. I used to only flush after salt water. I also used to spray some water in the bottom jet inlet to keep pump and wear ring wet....
