1977 ski-mate restore with pictures

I never criticized anything and never mentioned marine ply, just was kind of surprised you used that type of wood and made mention of it. If that's all it takes to be considered rude then maybe you're a little too sensitive. Personally, I would say standard exterior ply would be a great choice but its your call. Best of luck with the resto, I hope it lasts you 50 years.

EDIT: Just wanted to add one thing. The guy who used the pointing/laughing smiley was from Michigan and that's definitely not the northeast in my book.

Thanks.

John

I don't know how you feel about a hot foot set up but I picked up a new pedal for under $90 and a billet shifter for around $125 last spring. Its a great combo in my opinion and the shifter is really sharp looking.

I personally don't like the hot foot. I can deal with it on my friends jet boat, but on an outboard there's just too much spring pressure (between the carbs and the timing control of the engine) and it makes my foot tired very quickly. I took the foot off my Predictor and hooked the hand control back up.

As to the Uflex control, I was having the same thoughts for my Predictor, but eventually decided I'd rather go for a single control (key issue was the fact you'll need a wiring harness with the Uflex, that ends up eating the price difference between the controls.) I was going to do it this year with the engine swap, but due to a work issue I think I'll put it off till next year.
