Hey Iam new to this page and not really sure where to post this stuff but Iam restoring a 1978 checkmate convicor and was wondering if anyone on here can give me any information about it. Anything is appreciated Iam not able to find much on the Internet. Thanks for the help!

I too recently purchased a 78 convincer. I've herd they only made that model in '78 and '79? I read somewhere that they basically a extended hull trimate. mine is in descent shape, just need lil motor work and some upholstery, maybe repaint in couple years. I am having trouble finding a new windshield.

Checkmate produced the original Convincer in 1977 and 1978 only, I have been told numerous times there were around 10 or 12 made. I have done a complete restoration on a 1978 as mentioned in the post above. There are a lot of parts still available for them but, the windshields are not one of those parts still available. These boats perform very well when you throw some power at them, I have around 390 hp in mine and it runs about 70.

Thank you for the responses! The boat I have is in pretty rough shape needs new motor and all new interior redone with new carpet but just finishing up doing a complete rebuild on a 350 and will be dropping it in in a few weeks then the seats will be next in a few months. I will post some pictures when it's all done. Thanks again!
