Yeah u are right! I'm looking on ebay for the hydro system looks like bout 600.00 for a mid grade system. And solid mounts are around 100.00....guess the old saying applys to the water. ( speed =$$$ how fast do ya wanna go) ....

You arent going to low to mid 70's in a predictor with a stock '86 150. Nor would you want to without a steering upgrade. Low 60's. 65 GPS with the current on a cold day Too much of a prop and you just won't get into your power range. You can bolt a 26 pitch prop to it and it will turn but if you cant get over 4800 RPM its not doing you any good.
Is that right? You should come for a ride sometime.....
2.0L XR2, set up properly, i can get mid 70's here is a quick video, not wide open, but you can see how aired out this boat gets without being over trimmed..
no problem running 6000 rpm's with a 26 pitch Trophy Plus...
