1981 Enticer . Day one of Demolition

First time on the water in 8 years. Last time I was in it on the water was probably 17 years ago. Felt pretty good. Not a bad day in North Central Oregon. 42 degrees on the water. Sunny and calm. Ive got a few throttle adjustments to make but the old girl ran pretty good. Honor thy father.

That must have been pretty exciting to get out on the water with her after all your hard work, especially with the history you have with that boat, congrats :thumb:

It looks awesome

I don't know why but I was under the impression you were down in the Carolinas.

I can relate to how you feel about that boat. My dad bought a 1980 18 ft Glassmaster bow rider with a 305 in it around 1983 from our neighbors at our old lake house. I was 11 at the time and grew up skiing, tubing, swimming off that boat and when I got a little older I was out on it all summer long partying with my friends. In 1999 when my dad sold the lake house I bought a house a few miles down the road a few hundred feet from the lake and he gave me the boat which was in need of some TLC. After using it a few years and laying it up for a couple of summers both my kids were old enough so I spent a bunch of time and some money getting it back into shape. It was such an awesome feeling watching them enjoy the same boat I did when I was a kid. My parents came up and it was priceless to watch Dad driving the boat again. When I got the Checkmate I was going to sell the old boat but instead I gave it back to him (in much better shape than it was when I got it) and he's recently retired and uses it to do some fishing in the Raritan Bay now. It gives me such a good feeling to see him in the old boat again, it makes me feel 25 years younger.

Its great seeing you enjoy that same boat with your family like I was lucky enough to do with my family and our old boat. I love my Checkmate but there will always be a special place in my heart for that old Glassmaster.

My dad bought the boat in Greenville, SC and we moved up to Ohio a few years later. Then out to a few places in California, then Texas, Oregon and Washington. Its been in the water in Canada, Mexico, Texas, California, The Atlantic and Pacific, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, Virginia, Idaho and has been cross country 4 times. All of my wife collection has been on it at one time or other. I learned to ski behind it 31 years ago and was a major component in my life of love in High School on the lake in Texas. Good times. I hope my kids get the same joy using that boat that I have throughout my life.
