1984 Convicor full restoration

I have recently pick up a 1984 Convicor 25' off of craigslist for 1,700.00 with aluminum trailer. it is completely striped. I have began purchasing parts to bring it back to new. Living in Vegas creats a battle of working in the heat.
so far I have picked up a gen 6 454 block with 502 crate heads and a 502 steal crank for $500.00. I am also converting it to a bravo one Drive. Instead of pluging the TRS hole I am purchasing the volvo to bravo transom plate. I will upload photos of before and afters as I go. enjoy the before's I have at this time and fallow the build.

Ambitious undertaking! Good luck with your resto. I hope you are successful in getting many good deals on the parts you need, to avoid creating a national debt. :bigthumb:

so far Craigslist has been my best friend for parts. Im trying to keep a budget of 15K I picked up a Bravo one gimbal for 1300.00 my recommendation to anyone is search craigslist for parts its amazing what you can find.

Can't wait to see your build. I like watching something I know about.
BUT for 15k you can buy mine and go boating.:D

but then I cant say I built that! everything from the motor to interior. put my style into it and put the things I like not the things that someone else likes. i plan on keeping this boat for a decent a mount of time.

I have restored a 1978 southwinds 20' daycruiser with a 460 ford and jacuzzi yj jet. and a 1988 18 foot jet with a 454 and berkley drive. i have not taken on a boat this large or with a merc. outdrive. Im excited and nervous at the same time.

Had time to start tearing into it taking out the old to put in new.

my goal is to have it completed and on the water by next summer but Im thinking of re doing the gelcoat any thoughts?

It is painted when i purchased it, it was in storage in California the person that owned it had it painted put it in storage and it sat out since 2010. I paid a body shop 400.00 to cut buff it and they did a horrible job so if i don't gel coat it i will be cutting and buffing it again.. I have a few things that i want to do fiberglass repair too on the deck area and transom. I would really hate to do a touch up paint job to it.
the headers I found on craigslist they were a steal at 1,400.00

this Volvo or BMW to Bravo plate just came in the mail. I have not seen any tutorial Videos for install. When the time comes to install It I am going to make a video to help people understand the install and see how to do it. it is really straight forward though.
