Well-known member
Attached to 1997 225 EFI Merc outboard. Trailer included.

You guys know this boat, New stringers, floor and power trim. Full receipts available.
Reliable, pretty. Does mid 60's while yawning. Pops out of the hole like a scalded hemmorhoid . "SPARKLY"
Puts out and doesn't argue.
Owner needs to get rid of some "stuff".
No prop kickers please. 609-658-3653. Ask for Sim. He with the overly complicated "stuff".
Have a nice day. Or not. Entirely up to you.

Any idea for $ amount? You don't want to scare them.:cheers:

All you need to attract a buyer is a good side show.

No I am not available to help with that. Oh, you already provide that to us. :poke:

End Of Season Sale-$6000

If anybody wants it this year before the 1st snow hits.
1997 Merc 225. Just started it up today and changed the lower unit lube.
Boat starts right up 1st time every time.
Brand new power trim unit professionally installed recently- has only been used once.
This is your chance to get a great end of season deal.
Price goes up in the Spring.

(response to Patroni)
And you would know. How many hours did you spend replacing the wood?
Would love to join you guys for the races. Carol watch too?

Awesome boat! Love the look of these machines. That is a great price, trust me, nothing like this at that price point north of the border.

Some Historical Background

This 1987 boat was originally custom ordered by HotDaddy's father (correct me if I'm wrong HD) out of Ohio
with a custom layup that was about 100 pounds lighter than the 1400 lb. stock. I have a copy of the buildsheet
that HD sent me a few years back. (The cigarette lighter still works.:rof:)

HD came into legal possession of it and sold it to Smit401 somewhere around 2008 at which point Kyle dropped a
1997 225 Merc onto it and I traded him my Persuader and a buncha cash when I picked it up from him after falling
in love with it on the Sasafraras river in Md.

Boogied with it for a few seasons at which point realized it had some classic Checkmate "Soul Rot" which I couldn't
fix (Sim is lame and knows it) so JTPatroni stepped in (rescued) and spent a winter replacing stringers, knees, flooring
and carpeting to his standards. Sim had the pleasure of scraping and sanding like a slave thus providing him the
opportunity to meet and come to be extremely fond of JT and his family.

After another season or so my wife wanted "less bumpy" and Sim grabbed buddies knarloid and Patroni for roadtrip to
purchase bigger boat from boatman down at Md. midway point. Which ended up needing a new engine. Nuff said, it's
done and replaced now. Great boat.

New boat is great. Old boat is great.
2 boats is 1 boat 2 many.
Would like to part with the lesser boat (much as I LOVE it and part of me wants to keep it) before winter.
Very much want to keep her in our family. Not gonna Craigslist her. At leat not till Spring. Maybe not even then.
Would like a good home. If I can't find that then I'll just keep upkeeping her even though she barely ever gets out
to play anymore.
Willing to practically give her away at this price. Or not.

I just had a thought. there is hardly ever any snow down here and I will have an open spot in my garage this winter. so if you want I will offer free storage and lite testing over the long winter! good luck with the sale :thumb:

:rof:I'm considering it.

Actually one owner before my family. That guy never used it but supposedly custom ordered it with some sort of special layup. As a matter of fact the boat still didn't have cleats or a radio when we got it. Engine may have still needed break in time. I don't remember for sure.

The special layup deal sounded fishy to me, so after meeting Kip through this site I asked him for a copy of the build sheet. Not sure how it differs from any other Starling as I only owned one.

Started right up today on muffs after sitting for winter.
I'd say it took almost 4 seconds with two turns on the key.
Going out this weekend.
Reliable. BooYah.

Hello all. I haven't been on the site for a while and was surprised to see Sim selling the starliner. I don't know why but I can't find the asking price?
I would like to clear two things up . the boat you traded me was a predictor not a persuader, and second you said you also gave me a lot of money in addition to the predictor. I remember it being a small amount of cash and a predictor Ha ha. anyway whats the price?
