1989 Starflight Restoration Underway!!!

This boat came out great! My name is eric and i am new here but i work for raybo and i did a large majority of the sanding/polishing on this boat and i fell in love with it so i went out and bought one. The previous owner just dropped it off this morning actually, anyway this boat is very nice. Cant wait to see it all finished

Rigging is just about done, SHould be completed by Weds w. motor etc. Now if CHeckmate ships the interior it can get wet this weekend. Will post some more pics in a couple of days.

Nice job Ragu!!!

Your thread on S&F about the 16' SB convinced me that I needed a Side or Center Console. What a great boat!

I bought a side console last week, so thank you for costing me more boat money!!!!!!:poke::cheers: The wife also sends her thanks! :shakehead: :sssh:LOL

Keep up the good work.

Misery loves company! :) You can never have enough boats. I splashed the SB16 for the first time today since the rerig and restoration. It is VERY quick. I did not have batteries for my portable GPS so no numbers. I am alittle concerned having my son and daughter using it, it is kind of flighty. May need to put a smaller motor on it. Best of luck with the new boat, what did you get?

Here it is on the lift!

Never took shots of it. Here is one as I was going up our canal. I'll shoot some more this week. This picture is at sunset. The interior and rigging is top notch and I drove it last week. The Starflight is a very nice handling boat. I had an Enforcer O/B and an MX14 many years ago.

I have a question about the cap at the bow. When I look straight into the bow the port side looks as if it dips lower than the starbord side. Is this just my boat or was this done at the factory on all boats? I thought I saw the same thing on the boat ragu has posted here.
I read where Checkmate had problems with the motor well area breaking when the deck was removed from the mold.
