" For Sale" 1992 pulse 171 with xr6 150 mercury very nice 12000

skip_97

New member
I have an exceptionally nice pulse 171 with a 150 mercury xr6
the lower unit is brand new
new laserII stainless prop
jack plate
trim tabs
new tilt trim motor with all new solonoids
carbon fiber reeds
rebuilt carbs
new fuel pump
new dual steering cables with anti feedback clutch
depth finder
sony stereo with sub
matching vanguard triler with new wiring tires and bearing buddies
checkmate cover
bimini top
The boat is all original and i would rate it a 9 out of 10 all day long.
It is the black red and white boat that looks awesome.
I am asking 12000 which is way less than I had the boat appraised for.
I have tried posting pics twice and the whole post disapears so I will need to email them to you. Please call 307-660-7389 as it is easier for me to check the phone than my email and PMs.
Thanks
Clint

pics of boat

I think I have the pictures posting. I forgot to say the boat is located in Gillette Wyoming but I do quite a bit of traveling and could possibly meet you somewhere if it worked out. I will be heading for dallas texas in the not too distant future.

I see you are from michigan. It might be yours...The boat came from there a couple of years ago. The last owner bought it about 9 years ago...

lower price 10500

Price drop to 10500. I am looking for some feedback here....you still think it is too high? I could also work out some kind of a delivery deal as well.

Whoa, that might actually BE MY FIRST CHECKMATE! I didn't look at the jack plate closely the first time, but that looks just like the plate I put on the boat after I bought it from my dad!

Differences from when I sold it, if this is it:
1) The steering wheel has been changed.
2) No trim tabs when I owned it.
3) That lower unit isn't original to the XR6 outboard (the original lower unit was a true XR lower unit, smaller diameter and only 4 water intake holes on each side). The lower unit on it now is much stronger but a tad slower.
4) bimini top.

I bought the boat from my dad (original owner since December '91) in about '96 or '97? That's when I added the Jack Plate and a 26" Laser II prop to the original gear case. I sold the boat a couple years later to an older couple that had just finished putting the last kid through college. Did you buy it from a small town between Grand Rapids and Lansing Michigan, or did you buy it from someone that bought it from that area?

Does the boat still have a Prindle Marine sticker on the back somewhere? Were the original stickers MC 6707 PD (I may be off a little, memory fades)

As far as the price you're asking, it's always what the market will bear of course. If the floor core and stringers and seat bases haven't been reworked yet, that might be why you haven't had any bites.

I think that IS your old boat JW! Amazing to see it hasn't lost much since new, what, 21 years ago? What did Dad pay for that?

Also looks nearly identical to my last Checkmate save for the LD vs Open Bow (and the 150 vs 200 :thumb: ).

Good luck on the sale; one cool boat!
