" For Sale" 1992 Starflite w/ Merc Laser XRi 220

1992 Checkmate Starflite.Blue and white with plum trim. Rigged with a 220hp Outboard Mercury EFI motor, ~30 hours on new powerhead.

Boat does 60 to 62mph with included 21p quicksilver stainless steel prop. This hull and motor are capable of 70mph+ with a prop switch and proper setback, but it is currently set up for family watersports. It has great low end to pull skiers, wake boarders, and tubes.

Hull is in excellent condition. Transom is solid. Rear bench seat is brand new, made of new style polycarbonate, not wood. Upholstery is nearly brand new, direct from the Checkmate factory. Boat comes with a custom fit cover for boat and outboard, as well as life jackets, cd player, and more.

Boat needs TLC that I don’t have the time to give to it anymore, but it will not disappoint. It handles rough water better than almost anything else its size and weight, and is a dream in smooth-to-choppy water.

Selling boat as-is. It's not turn-key, but it's not horribly far away. Asking only $3000 for boat, engine, and extras, as it does require some elbow grease to get it up and running. Gelcoat needs a wax, and fuel tank needs to be drained. It is all superficial though, the boat itself is in strong condition. Boat is currently sitting on a 1995 HaulRite tandem axle trailer, which I’ll throw in for free, as it’s not in the same condition as the boat and motor. It’s probably only got another few seasons left in it.

Plenty of pictures available. Plenty of details available (I’ve owned this boat for years). Feel free to contact me with any questions. Skarecrow77@gmail.com

It is still for sale. It is located in Crete Illinois, about 30 min south of Chicago.

Contact me via PM or via email for more details.

This boat is still available, but it's being sold as-is. I simply do not have the money to put into fixing it up. If I did, I'd fix it up and keep it.

This is a semi-project boat. Something to keep you busy over the winter. It certainly does not need a complete re-build, but it does require someone to give it time and attention to get it back into tip-top shape. Again, I don't have the time to do this (although I do have the desire). If I did, once again I'd be keeping it. :(

The battery is dead, so I don't have the ability to start it up, but the powerhead was new as of 99 (have receipt), and the previous owner used it for one season before purchasing a new boat. I used it for 3 seasons before I unexpectedly moved out of state. The powerhead probably has somewhere around 30 hours on it total, it's essentially brand new. The engine worked fine last time I ran it, and ran strong (62mph on a 21p prop), but it's been sitting, unwinterized, for 3 years now.

The boat has been covered and generally kept from the elements as much as possible for a boat that's stored outside.

The Transom looks strong. The floor is solid except for under the drivers seat, which has an ugly (though solid) repair job on it. Like many Starflites of this age, it will probably eventually need a new floor, but it doesn't need one today.

PM me any questions and/or serious offers. I want to get this thing off my hands as one whole package (I.e. I'm hesitant to break it up), and I think the price I'm asking is very reasonable for the boat, motor, and trailer, even considering the TLC it needs.

I have a lot more pictures. I can email them as requested.

Asking price dropped to $2500, and that's for the boat, trailer, motor, cover, new rear bench seat (un-installed). All of it.

Sorry for the slow reply, it's been awhile since I checked this thread.

The answer to the question is "Yes and no". I still own the boat, but I have a semi-offer on it. The thing is the man who made the offer is currently deployed in Iraq for the time being, and has said that if anybody else makes me a better offer, I'm free to sell it, no hard feelings.

Make me a better offer.

I want to note that I'm selling it completely as-is, which as you might expect means it is not turn-key. That said, I won't exaggerate to you (or anybody) about the condition it's in. I'll tell you exactly what's wrong with it and exactly what is right with it, because I think what I'm asking is a very fair price for this boat, even as a project.

Shoot me an email (skarecrow77@gmail.com), or send me a private message here.

Price is reduced again. I'm asking $2000, but make me an offer. I'm moving in a few weeks and this thing isn't coming with me. It needs to go. The hull alone is worth more than $2000, so you're getting the rest for free.

You will not get bull**** from me on this boat, I'll tell you exactly how it is. It is not in bad condition at all, but it isn't in working condition either. It isn't turn-key. The battery is dead and I'm not getting it a new one to start it up for you. The engine worked perfectly fine last time I used it, but that was also 5 years ago. This is a semi-project boat begging to be rescued. If you've ever wanted a Starflite on the cheap, and know your way around boats and engines, this is a steal.

PM here here or, preferably, email me at skarecrow77@gmail.com. I'll answer any questions you may have to the best of my abilities.

Boat has sold.

I appreciate all who contacted me interested, and I apologize for the delay in updating this post. It's been a hectic couple of days.
