i was recently at a local dealer because i wanted to add a little more oomf to my 175efi... and he said it would be fairly easy turning into a 200 with just reeds and not much else... is this true? i'm aware that they are the same block i just thought they would be a different bore and stroke as well or something.

i think the bore and stroke are the same, but wouldn't the ecm have to be reprogrammed? i think this is a little more involved then just reeds? my understanding is that with 2 stroke motors, you can't just do fuel or exhaust mods, you need to do both.

Most bang for the buck, reeds, Bob's exhaust tuner, vent holes in cowling to allow more in. These mods woll cost you around $200 to $250 and should give you a gain of 3 to 5 mph. And 5 mph is just about the difference between the 2 motors. boatman

The reeds and the tuner should cost about $250. I can get a price for you, I am a dealer for Bob's. The labor, you cand do your self. boatman
