I just purchased a new to me Checkmate. It's an 83 Sportfire with 470 I/O. Took it out on the lake for the first time yesterday and fell in love with it. I grew up in Bucyrus and alwus loved seeing the new mates leaving the shop and could not wait to own one. 20 years later, here I am. My new obsession. Thanks and looking forward to learning a lot from this site.

Congrats. And welcome. The sportfire is a nice little boat . You need to put up some pictures for all us boat picture addicts.:welcome:

:welcome: to the forum!! Sounds like a cool boat, congrats man! Must have been awesome growing up near the Checkmate factory, if i had been that close when i was a kid they woulda need extra security to keep me out of there every day!!
