200 merc

i have a 200 merc that keeps blowing #2 cylender it was originaly a 1983 but blowed and craked block and was built back with 1985 block and a 150 crank and ever sense it keeps blowing #2 cylinder any ideas why. the carbs were spotless and ignition timing is correct. could it be the choke solonoid couz it pulles out of #2 corb bowl.

Just a hunch, but check your water pump housing. I had a 200efi that kept blowing 1 cyl. Turns out, the water pump housing was warped. What was strnge about the whole thing was that it seemed to keep good water press. As the rpm's went up, the housing was letting out water so I wasn't getting the volume I needed. Blew it 3 times before I figured it out and when it happened the first time, I had just replaced the impeller. boatman
 
A bad pump will always blow #1 first... It's the farthest from the pump. He says #2, so
can't be the pump, if all else is OK!
