22' ZR

Hi:

It's my first crack at this....hope someone out there may be of assistance to me

I have a 1997 Checkmate 22' ZR with 454 magnum/bravo drive (just purchased). Can anyone kindly recommend the correct prop for ultimate all round performance? Also, I'm not quite sure what RPM limit is??
Many thanks,
Dan

Dan: Not sure exactly what hull that 22 has, but my ZT230 has about a 22 foot hull and a big block and runs best overall with a 4 blade Bravo One. I also run a 3-blade Mirage Plus, which gets me an extra 2 mph on the top end, but handling is compromised at top speed. It will depend on how fast your boat will run. If you are getting up to speeds where chine walk starts to play a factor, then the 4 blade will definitely be better for handling. But if you are below those speeds, the 3 blade should work fine. I ran a 3 bale MP with no problems at all when I had a small block and less power in the same boat - never got past 60 mph, so the boat was stable throughout. At the end of the day you gotta try them all out. Good luck.
