300 convincor on Cmate FB page

$66,000 and change. I would like to set my 300 up similar to this when I have the money. I wonder how much more the 850SCI is. I can't find it advertised anywhere on the net....

http://www.proboats.com/pre_owned_detail.asp?sid=08502771X11K30K2012J12I16I10JAMQ5369R0&veh=1462137

I see thats a sale price, marked down from MSRP of $92 grand :eyecrazy:!! I guess relatively speaking $66 grand isn't too bad, isn't the 525 EFI around $45,000? Outta my price range by a long shot!

It's your money so you get to do what you want

srt,

Your boat would be really great with either a 700 or an 850, but unless you get the boat that way from the dealer new, it's crazy money.

You already bought the 496/bravo, paying the Mercury conversion costs on top is:eyecrazy:. Waiting till the 496 and Bravo are all worn out might be a little more reasonable, but then you're putting all that money in a used hull.

I think Mercury charges too much for their packages to put them in a used boat, even your boat.(which I really like BTW).

I think you are better off at this point going with one of the boosted options(whipple/procharger/other) on your package so you can have a little more fun till it's worn out, then going with a great non-Mercury builder(Potter/Sterling/Cobra/other) to put together a 800-900hp package for you.

This is just my opinion, but I think you would get better value.

However, If money grows on trees for you, then why stop at an 850SCI.

When you do get around to adding power, I'll be cheering for you.

be careful boosting that 496......if it is a new engine, you need to have the ring gaps widened to account for added heat of boosting. If the engine has a few hundred hours and is well worn in, you should be fine. The ring gap is too tight from the actory for boost. If not changed and boost is added, you will do some damage busting the ring lands out of your pistons.

Tom, I'd throw a procharger and external hydro steering on it. That would safely get you running right around 80mph. The procharger is so much easier on the motor and drive than the Whipple.

Most Excellent. A 300 Convincor with a 700 is absolutely one of my dream packages. Iw ould probably do different graphics as I like White boats with blue graphics or white with orange.
