38 fountain... not so good driving...

Probably because he had some broken vertebrae and not to mention it wasn't even his camera, it belonged to the LakeTV guy that was sitting in the back. :)

that is some funny stuff there i dont think that driver had any idea what happened prolly still dosent the remix kills me

In addition to a rather serious discussion on responsibility toward passenger life safety and high performance technique, I think Marv would benefit from some dance lessons. He seems awful stiff(perhaps overcome by looking Angry Water directly in the eye) in the film. A little Michael Jackson moonwalk might have worked in lieu of the power drop to the floor, I'm just sayin...

I asked the wife if she would like to go for a boat ride with that guy...she couldnt believe what she was seeing!First thing she said was-Why are they all standing up? Then she said the driver looked like a dick with ears.

And I'm sure if you check his drawers, he's hung like a Ken doll.

The fact that there were no PFD's, kill switch, and people standing has nothing to do with what happened here. Do I think there was a lack of judgment? Yes.

MY TAKE : If you keep an eye on the top left of the clip you see a boat in the background. That boat starts to creep out of the picture as the Fountain leaves the water the first time. This leads me to believe he was in a slight turn when re-entering causing the first hard hit. After this momentum caused the hull to hook and spin.

Now onto the real news... High-five to the 48 year old milf in the front.

Ill

LOTO is known for its ruffness out in the main lake. Famous for the rollers that bounce off the rock walls back into the lake. Thats why all the hi-rollers are in 40+ ft offshores. A regular weekend is bad enough, throw in shoot out weekend. It was bad judgement mixed with bad skills with a dash of DOUCHERY.

I cannot help but think that the application of personal floatation devices, the installation and use of a safety lanyard, and most importantly, the proper placement of passengers are the things that stand out. I think that these folks are very lucky that things didn't go worse than they did. Some of us have seen the video of a vessel launching off of a wake, and comming down on the gunnel, foundering and sinking, all in a matter of moments. A driver is compelled to analyse his mistakes and others that he might see, and use this to improve and refine his skillset. In some ways, this could have happened to any of us. If this were a video of a vessel being operated by me, pfds would be present and being worn, there would be a safety lanyard in use, and the passengers would be seated prior to getting under way and visually checked constantly...

well i can see the pfds being on an the guy being a douch bag with the throttles an all but really the people standing up made no difference in what happened in this inncodent every one would have still been on the floor heck prolly not even enough seats for everyone. i have been busting ass down the bay before in friends boats the last place i want to be is seating through any chop the end result is there should have been common sense used in this situation which i beleave dick with ears driver had zero

I have been in high speed though rough stuff and personally prefer to sit and hold on when I see it coming. I do tend to stand alot in bigger boats like Brians 283 or a friends 38' fountain. I usually don't wear a vest, but looking back at some of the situations I have been in I probably should have worn one. One wild ride was around 110m.p.h. when we blew out the shaft between the engine and the port side drive. Driver was able to shut her down quick and never got out of control, but I look back and think if things went really wrong at least with a pfd my mother could give me a proper funeral as they could recover my body.

A friend of mine has had 2 fountains, 29 w/454 efi, hairy 80mph boat, now a 35 with 525SC's great riding 80mph boat...BUT...these are stepped hulls and if you make quick turns with trimmed up they will spin out in a flash !!!! hard to believe that possible in a 35' boat..trust me..easier than you would ever think...pretty sure that what happened here..scary for sure...
