I'm not shure how to set up my steering at the motor,it was not connected when I bought the boat.
do I need to keep the wood seat supports that are glassed to the floor,or can I redesign them to give me more space,or are they apart of the strength of the boat

The seat bases are not a structural part of the boat, design on.
As far as the motor, what kind and hp is it. If you have a digital camera shoot me some pictures of what is on the motor and what is on the boat and I will see if I can help.
