77 Trimate III

Hawthorn

New member
I Have a trimate III that i recently purchased. The previous owner the Floors and transom repaired. The guy at the shop attempted to fix the gel coat on the top cap and messed it up pretty bad in some spots he sanded the flake completely off and some spots he sanded the orange down to silver and then clear coated on top off it . I Got a price from a reparable shop to repair the top cap. To repair it he is gonna strip the top cap re-flake and gelcoat and fill some hole from the antenna, gas fill and cleats . I dropped the boat off tuesday and will post pics of before, during and after.

I hope it turns out nice.

Your 'Mate looks like it has one of the neat 'flake fades they used to do back during that time.

My friends had one that was red and black flake that faded from almost solid black on the inside, to almost solid red on the bottom of the hull. That was one of the nicest boats I've ever seen. :thumb:
