'78 Predictor FS in Michigan

I've had this boat for 2 seasons and couldn't be happier with it. Got laid off in June and enrolled at university for my teaching certification, so I need some tuition money.

The GOOD:
Boat and engine are incredibly sound. It has the original Mercury 1150 inline-6. I just did the water pump and fuel pump. It gets new plugs every season. New fuel gauge/sender, Sony CD and West Marine speakers, MOMO steering wheel, original trailer with new tires and bearings plus a new spare tire and mount with matching rim. Also just rebuilt the trim pump and installed new cylinder bushings. Hull is immaculate as is the transom. I pulled the fuel tank and installed a new cartridge-style bilge pump. All new light switches, wiring, etc. Everything electrical works. Also rebuilt the control box with new gears, new throttle/gear change cables. Cha-ching$$.

Some of you may have seen this boat when it was on M-13 last spring, it has a huge Checkmate Knight logo on the bow and is very striking.

The BAD: no bads. Starts, idles and does an honest 50 on GPS with one person and mild chop. Ram the throttle down, trim it until it starts to chine-walk and back it off a nudge, then hang on. No jackplate needed.

The UGLY: the rear seat is getting sun-hardened and cracked. The top of the boat was clearcoated at one time and that is flaking. It would either need to be re-cleared or totally stripped. If I were to keep it I'd just shoot another coat of clear.

I've done all the major work. All this boat needs is some upholstery and a clear-coat shot to be really stunning. I get comments on it everytime I take it out. Most of the time I hear "It's good to see a small boat with the old 'tower of power' instead of a Yamaha engine".

The skinny - I have a lot invested in this boat. I'd like to see $3800. Any less than that and I pull the Sony and the MOMO.

I will take pix tomorrow and will send to anyone who is interested.

Boat is located in Bay City, MI but is up at Higgins Lake at least three days a week. I'll also be up at the South Higgins state park for the entire last week of July in case anyone wants to hang out and share a Heineken.

Cheers,

Pete

OK, guys. I busted the hell out of my clavicle on a YZ250 at Silver Lake dunes a few weeks ago - my Predictor is still outside with a cover and tarp on it. I haven't been able to get it in the barn yet.

Before I do, the first $3K takes it. I really need the money. I realize it's too late in the year, but it never hurts to ask, ya know?

Need to see pix, and has the floor/core been replaced before you bought it?

thanks,

I see no indication of the floor or core having been replaced. The only rot I can find is the battery box in the rear, and that is from dragging the battery in-out (bare wood).

I'll put some pix on my thumb drive and put them online from work tomorrow.
