Selling my 1972 Checkmate Playmate 11' mini speed boat. This boat is a blast to drive! It has a Mercury 50 hp outboard shorty which is rare itself, the motor is super fast on this boat. This boat will run 80 mph + if your not scared to do it. It is super stable at high speeds. It has a quicksilver racing two blade propeller on it. I actually have 4 of these racing props and the one that is on it now is the fastest. The boat seats two people, and is soild, no rot anywhere that I have seen. Floor is solid, transom is nice and straight too. Comes on a very nice all galvanized trailer. I just reduced the price to $2200 for quick sale. These boat sfully restored to original sell for around $7000. Shoot me an email if your interested in seeing it. Thanks!!

.............and by "if you're not scared to do it" I think he was referring to being scared of getting a speeding ticket in your car.

I wasn't aware that you could get astro-turf in red, very cool. The red Duct Tape stripe is a nice touch also. Something seems amiss as far as the fitment of hull on the trailer, especially at the bow. Seems to have transom tie down straps, a rarity on some of these Craigslist Specials. I am also curious as to the stated top speed of vessel, so much so, that I am looking forward to talking to seller. 80 mph with 50 hp. I think I can see the setback, but am interested in the pitch and diameter and possible upper rpm capabilities of motor. I have heard that Mercury notoriously underated thier powerplants back in the day.....E-mail sent....

Just shows how screwed up your setup is Jimway!! you got 175?? and seeing what kind of speed?? :D :poke:
I hear what you are sayin! I have enough trouble keepin her runnin on all six. If I could incorporate some of the sellors possible speed tricks, perhaps I'll see an increase in velocity too. Could be that race prop....I aint afraid to go fast but I am worried about them little tires on the trailer.

This just in, I have made contact with seller. Vessel does have some scratchs on bottom but is "solid little boat." Has 15 p prop. Weighs 345 lbs, 490lbs with motor. Hmmn....

Did you ask him if the 80m.p.h. was achieved while on or off the trailer?
I thought I might establish a raport, if you will, before dropping the hammer, so to speak. Sellor does have paperwork for vessel but not for trailer.

Lots of paperwork and fees in my state. I was checkin out some YF video of a big twin Mate and was wonderin if you were in the video, already down in the basement of the vessel watchin tv or maybe shootin some eight ball down there....

If Washington is a hassle like NY is you can go online, print the forms, and mail them in to reg the trailer in Maine with little more than a hand written bill of sale and rest easy for 5 years before its due for renewal. Got both my sled trailers reg'd there now, boat and ski trailers are coming next.
