84 diplomat with johnson115 props

It might be a dog out of the hole but, if you have a jack plate you can lift it high and maybe get some rpm's out of it.

I dont have a jack plate. I noticed with my 12 3/4 x 21 I cant trim all the way up, I watch the revs jump from 5800 to 6000 if I over trim and the speed drops 2 MPH, like Im not pushing water. Thats when Im flat out running at 56 MPH speedo. What is making that happen?

It just sounds like you are trim up to high for that prop.

Also you may not want to buy a chopper if you dont have a j/p. They need to run high.

Honestly, your 115/Dipper is never going to be very fast. If you are running 56 speedo it is more like 48ish gps. If I were you I would run a 19P and get better holeshot. Or get a v6.

The cool part is my friends own these props, they keep asking me to try different stuff, just for fun. I originally had a 13 x 19 Michigan wheel, and that was a torque loud ride, not enough lift. Im getting that re-hubbed for pulling. So I borrowed a 12 3/4 x 21 Michigan wheel and its such a smooth ride no cavitation, very nice ride. Also picked up 3 MPH . So after that I ran my buddy with a Baja & a Merc 150 and kept it really close. So now he suggested trying this 13 3/4 x 23 to see if the motor can even push it. I cant help but wonder?

My brother in law said it was awsome to watch my checkmate run a Baja. He said I was up in the air on a 25 degree angle and the Baja was flat, such a huge difference it design, but nose to nose for a 1/2 mile run.
