I took all the bolts out of the bottom, disconnected everything around motor, now I just "broke the mold" around the base, I just need some advice on how to get this engine off the base. The outboard is attached to the boat. I am rebuilding the engine with new pistons, etc.

Thanks for any help!

I just pulled my 225 yammie head a few weaks ago, lots easier then I would have thought. Are you talking about lift it off or what? there should be some sort or place you can put a cherry picker to mine had a loop. I would almost think two guys should be able to lift that off fairly easily. Aaron

Thanks, finally got it off the shaft, it took a minute, but i got it. The instructions said I had to disassemble the carbs, etc. But, it looks like
I wasted my time. It did not need disassembly, the unit would have come
off without the carbs being off.

While its apart if the shift shaft has any corrosion this is the time to replace may cost $100 now but save alot of grief down the line. If its not a saltwater motor there shouldnt be any problems. Good luck , Aaron

shift shaft is fine. But I have A BIG PROBLEM! One of the Main bearings on the crankshaft is blown! How the hell do you change one of those!!! HELP!
