'90 Maxxum 229

Thats a good looking boat. That is a lot of hours on that engine if it has never been rebuilt. You are running on borrowed time now I would leave the engine alone till its time for a rebuild.

Go for a blown big block and she'll move right along. Very nice boat you have. The engine looks clean. I rode in a 1990 maxxum 229 w/ a big block...wasnt that fast but it sounded cool:devil:

Yeah, she sounds ...SSWWEETT!!!!!

and they gave me a hard time on lake winni 2 weeks ago claiming I was at 95 decibles...could be...but it has built in silencers so I really don't think it was. I think the guy needs to re-calibrate his checker! I can get around 52 mph out of her. I'd like to try for 65 or 70 but they are going to vote on a speed limit of 45 soon so I don't know how realistic it would be to dump a few grand on a motor. Would headers add that much more horseys?

Hi Fletch. The boat looks great!!
The speed limit is a done deal:pissed:! It starts next season.
45 days / 25 nights
The performance upgrades could cost more in the long run than they are worth.

someone told me the Gov still had to vote on it so there was a possibility he would veto the vote. It is so dumb! people like myself that like to watch fast boats out in the broads wont be able to now! You're telling me a wake from a boat travelling 80 does more damage then a boat travelling 10-15 not even planed off??? There should've been sections of the lake speed limit enforced and the night time should be definite. I've heard boats out there wide open when it was pitch black out and NO LIGHTS!!

that's intense...and stupid:thumb:

sure it is...when you have marine patrol goof off's that sit around with binoculars and radar guns!! they just set up speed traps and play wanna be cop!

That sucks...:irked: planning on going up to Winni for my family vacation next season with the Strobe. This year just not in the budget.:shakehead:

Nice looking boat. I used to have one. Mine had a massaged 502 mag. It put out somewhere around 500 - 550 HP. It was a fun ride. :D:D:D
