New member
Motor Compression 123 psi avg
MIA - Oiler and 3 modules
25* timing
Holly Red F/P with high flow draw straw
Fuel 92 ethenol free

*Sea level

Test 1:
23" Trophy Plus 4-blade
55.8 GPS 2-way avg @6100 rpm

Test 2:
27" SRX - stock
Motor same as above plus heads cut .065 134psi avg comp. Carbon cleaned off piston heads, new head gaskets and studs torqued 55lbs

**Standby for results tonight**

With the 27" SRX, +250lbs from test 1, I achieved 57mph @ 5650 rpm.

Note: ran the best with J/P all the way down (prop did not like cavitating at all, Shes an all blades in the water kinda girl) approx. 2.5" below pad and trim all the way up (about 4-5* more than level with the water)

Thoughts?

The 211 is a BIG hull. Your speeds don't surprise me with a 2.4 Merc. That boat really wants a 3 liter 225 hanging on the back to get to 70, if that's what your goal is. And try a Tempest Plus on that 3.0, if you ever go that route.

Thanks for the advice to get a bigger engine.

Anyone have any thoughts about my current setup and things I can tweak?

I have a pulse 210 with an Evinrude 225(3.0l) 10" set back, also testing props.
Best I've done was with a 21 stiletto 3 blade. 60 mph at 6200rpm. It liked the prop buried also. Looking for a Raker or similar prop to try in a 23 to 24 pitch range

Thanks for the post. I have got an extension to push the motor back another 6". This would make a total of 16" of setback. I am also going to send in the SRX prop to get it reworked so I can run it higher.

Just dug the foam out from the nose. Holy crap that was a pain. Tip if you are going to do it: use a putty knife to unstick the foam from the hull. Then use the claw part of a hammer and start axing away. My foam was completely dry. But I am glad I took it out cause there was a piece of wood rotting in there even with dry foam. Also, I cut holes everywhere to inspect below the floor. Note to Checkmate **you over engineered the piss out of these boats. They are straight tanks.** Anyways, below the floor was dry but oddly the floor itself as rotting from the bottom. Whole floor is getting ripped out and foam removed in back. New lighter floor installed with hinged latches to access the bottom of the hull in the new floor. I weighed a piece of we floor I took out at 3.5lbs. I weighed a new piece of wood equal size to replace it at 1.5lbs. the piece was about 12"X10" square. I figured there's about 60 of these in the boat boat or 210 lbs of floor and 40lbs of foam still to be removed. It will be replaced with about 65-85lbs of new floor and should save around 150-180lbs plus add storage and keep the boat from rotting.
