98 32foot Fountain 7 HOURS

Here is the guys story and it sounds true.

I Ordered it new and dumped $ into it like I had a printing press. I have hung on due to the blood sweat and tears but It needs a home where it will get used.

Had all the factory weak areas in the deck professionally repaired and reinforced with new deck stringers and side hull stringers . Also corrected the windshield that is 2 inches further forward (on all 32's) on the starboard side.

Drop in your GM power or I can do it for you.

Drives thoroughly sorted out starting with quality Diesel gears and HD Gimbals.

Yes the boat only has 7 freshwater hours on it.....long story.

Fountain doesn't clean the molds between lay-ups. You don't see all the defects and garbage on white boats or boats that get painted.

I paid $4500 to have blue gel. The hull was good. The deck was abysmal. It was beyond fixing. It was exactly like the black boat that guy from Europe was complaining about and all the fanboys blamed him for buying a used boat.

Mine was abysmal from day one (brand new boat). White and yellow gel splatters in the blue. Pits and voids.

My dealer argued for me from day one. After 2 years, Fountain drove out to the west coat and picked up the boat which I kept in heated storage. Still a brand new boat. They painted the deck with Imron and called it good. "you are on your own". Of course the Imron was also terrible. Burned, Missing in spots etc.

I noticed some issues when Taking the boat apart to paint it yet again, I gave up on Fountain, We found the hull to be well constructed the deck had some serious shortcomings. Like being paper thin in areas and having the windshield almost 3 inches further forward on the starboard side than on the port side, Kitchen cabinet framework held in with 1 piece of fabric etc.

It then spent 14 months in a custom glass shop/boat builder having those weak areas reinforced, Stringers added to the underside of the deck, and extra bulkhead added in the center under the dash, new additional horizontal stringers added from the back bulkhead to the front bulkhead on the sides of the hull. We addressed every single problem.

Yes we fixed the crooked windshield too. BTW The side acrylic "glass" of the cockpit was much longer on the starboard to compensate for the crookedness. Replaced all that too.

All on a new boat.

thats a nice boat;) my buddy has a 99 32 fever, very nice but not the fastest boat around. twin merc 502's

Good find Big Red. When deals like that come along, cash talks and BS walks. There are so many good deals out there for someone with cash and a plan to close the deal quick no matter where the boat is located.

Someone is going to get a nice Fountain. I was not aware that the quality on those was so bad, The interior is a little dated on the style.

Never could understand why they used those dune buggy steering wheels. They must have gotten a great deal on like 5,000 of them or something!

The boat itself looks pretty cool though!
