A PIC FROM THE PAST

It gets kinda crazy sometimes. We have a couple of major party coves and people raft up and party all over the lake.

I envy alot of you guys and gals
we have nothing like that in new england

There's a cove on Wallenpaupack that is supposed to get pretty wild at times. I've only been there twice and it was in mid-September so the season was over but there was still a few people hanging out. Gonna get up there more this year for sure, gotta show off the new 'Mate. :D

We have a spot (or two) here on Greenwood Lake where the young people without kids get a little crazy sometimes. I know most of them through some friends that are a little younger than me and I've hung with them on a couple of occasions when the wife and kids weren't around. Lots of fun for sure.

i just checked out a web site for wallenpaupack. it looks like a descent place.
how tight do they enforce the fun restricting regs? (noise, speed, sipping the sauce)
Don't get me wrong, we do have good gatherings at my frequent spots just not two hundred plus boats like the photo shows. Our best gathering has been about 60 boats, two planes and one amphibious car on the lake zoar sand bar at one time.
fun but no naked drunken ladies

1st thing I think when I see that picture is what a nightmare that must be for insurance agents the next day.
I'd like to find out more about wallenpaupack-not too far from me.
Been to Greenwood a bunch of times in the Starliner on summer days. Where's the hot spot? Is it that beach near where you come out of the channel-motel and restaurant to the north of that cool house on the island ?

I don't really know how tough they are in Wallenpaupack about stuff, all I can say is I never had any problems but I've only been there twice. A friend of mine from around here with a big Sonic prefers to go up there because he says they are less strict so take that for what its worth. I like the fact that its reasonable to camp at any of the campgrounds right on the lake and most of them have a ramp to use and you can rent a slip by the night. We're planning on spending a few weekends out there this summer.

Sim, I think you are talking about the town beach that is on the very northern end of the main lake. Just to the west of that beach is a sandbar that all the younger crowd used to hang out at but at some point last summer one of the people who lives in a house in front of the sandbar started bitching about the noise and a lot of the times those guys moved south to what used to be the town beach on the east shore of the lake. Near that spot is a little cove that all us family folks beach our boats at and let our kids play in the sand. Its kind of nice that we have the wild spots and then the quiet spot.

Yes, that's the town beach I was thinking of. Always looked crowded but not like a great boat hangout spot.
My son goes to a camp right near Wallanpaupack and they keep a pontoon boat there that they take the bunks out tubing on. He was telling me that there's one weekend a summer that the camp finally decided last year they won't take the kids out on anymore because the lake gets too crowded and "everybody is drunk and some of the girls don't have their tops on."
I need to get in touch with the camp and find out which weekend that is.
I'll let you know. See ya there.

Sounds good. I'll tell the wife its a boys weekend out on the lake. :thumb:
I'm very fortunate. I'll just tell my wife we're going to visit our son at camp. With the boat. By the time she figures it out it'll be too late. "Whoops"

LOL, close Jeff!!

The dam has been leaking for some time now. It was a poor design from the get go. I have heard that the fix they are doing now is not a final fix as well
