Amsoil Oils?

Brian

Member
Has anyone used amsoil oils in any of there outboards before? And if so, do they know if they make a synthetic for direct injection? I have used it in smowmobiles before and I like the fact that there is not alot of a carbon build up around the rings, from the oil. Any body who has run this oil let me know what you think about it.

Yes I have. I run AMSOIL in all my engines, which includes 3 sleds, and a 150 HP Evinrude EFI. Run their HP injector oil in your outboard. Check their website for additional/application information.

Hi Brian
Amsoil is the only oil run. I use it my outboards 9.9 merc, 40 Mariner, 150 merc efi and 225 Optimax I run the HP amsoil oil in the Optimax and the regular amsoil in the rest.

I run the interceptor amsoil in my sleds.

Also run amsoil gear case oil in all the lower units.

No substitute for synthetic oil. Been using it since the 70's.

Smokes less, doesn't stink like petroleum based oil.

I even run it my chainsaw and weed whipper.

Some people I have talked to while out on sled runs use Klotz they have no complaints. Here in Ontario it is harder to find. As long as it is a pure synthetic it is better than petroleum based oil.

You just have to watch because now with power valves and DFI engines they use differnt types of oil. The oil for my Thundercat is standard Amsoil, my new 2005 Firecat and my wifes ZL600 use the Interceptor oil to keep the power valves clean and my 225 optimax uses the HP Amsoil.

Thanks for the info TCAT, I didn't know they made gear oil i will have to check that out. Thanks again.
