Another 79 Eluder Revived

It's been a long time since I've updated. I started a new position at work, so I haven't had time to update. Although work on the boat has slowed down, I have gotten some good things done since my last post.

The carpet is down and the seats are built, glassed and temporarily on place. I opted for a playpen design for the front with 3 removable pads. In the back I made 2 side seats with space in the middle for a cooler with a pad on it. The boat took it's first trailer ride around town to upholstery shops since being rescued. Now I'm just waiting for the right budget time to get the upholstery done.

:DThe biggest news is that the motor actually runs! I replaced all the hoses and water pump, cleaned the carbs, rebuilt the oil and fuel pump, and replaced the parts that time took it's toll on. With a few squirts of starting fluid, it fired up and ran!:bigthumb: I wanted to put it in the water this week, but the local lake is closed until February and I don't know if I want to make the drive to a farther lake at this time.

Next up - wiring.

For an all white interior with yellow pipping the best price was $1200. When I finally get it done, I'll probably add some color other than all white, so I know the price will go up.

I really like your idea of leaving a space for an ice chest.

If you don't mind i might steel it.

Can you give me the dimensions on your capitan chairs. i was thinking about going ith a pre made set but i kind of like yours. Also do you think you have enough room for inbetween the seats.

Great job.

Did you ever get the boat finished? Had not seen any updates in a while wonder how it looks now. :surf: I been going to college full time plus working so my project eluder still sits till I will have time. I am thinking metalic green and black for mine. anything wil be better then that brown lol.

Thanks for checking in. No, not done yet, but close. I got the wiring done and done some modifying to the interior layout. I plan to do some tinkering next weekend and I'll try to get some new picts posted.

The local reservoir opens next month and I plan to put it in the water to give it a test run. If all goes well then I'll be really motivated to get it completely done!

 Success!!!!! I took her down to the lake today for the trial run, and everything went great. She fired up and ran like a top. You would never had guessed that it had been sitting for 10+ years. Now the next big items begin - upholstery, Bimini, cover.......
