Another new boat-2100

New to me Pulsare 2100 LD. First Checkmate in 20 years. Needs some work. New rub rail (faded). Gel and buff work. Former owner had a Merc 260 on this thing--ill suited? 260 is blown--fixable. Here's what I have--on a budget. Have a 150 Promax, 20" (one of the strongest 150's Merc ever built), 225 PM, 15" or 20". Setback--had a 12" plus a 6"--sounds like a lot. They're kinda junky too. I have a 12" laying around--good enough? Props get real interesting. Owner had a 19" Laser II--again ill suited? I've got that, 23" Predator over/under, and the rest over hubs--reworked 26 chopper, Hoss Triton I 26", 24 and 26 Yamaha choppers. Chuck the over hubs? Can run low water pickup or stock.

Welcome to the forum!!! :thumb:Post some pictures of your checkmate. You can use a hosting site like photo bucket then copy and paste in the thread.

I think the 225PM with the 12" setback ought to be a real nice budget combo to get you going and should run fast. I would guess your chopper or hoss might do decent as well, sounds like you've got enough goodies to get you on the water and testing. Post some pics.

Will post pics as soon as phone quits acting up.

MateFever--looks like your pic is Red Rock. I get there sometimes. Usually go Rathbun. I'm in Granger and can see Saylorville from my house. There's one or two OB Checkmates here. Probably 5-10 IO ones. A 27' here really hauls the mail. I've got a buddy in Omaha that wants to go to Red Rock real bad. He's got a 2100 BR/225 Merc. Another Omaha buddy has a 23' Checkmate IO. We could have a Checkmate convention at RR.

I'm on board with that. My father in law lives 2 hours away and has a black starflite to bring to the party as well. Haven't seen too many checkmates on red rock other than an occasional zt or convincor. Looking forward to seeing another. Welcome to the forum. Red
Rock is a an awesome lake for its size and even better if the water is high. Saylorville is nice for the party scene but not if you want to run fast, too many people on the weekend. Would love to meet up and see your pulsare. Here's to hoping summer is coming soon.

Mfever- see you have a Predictor--years ago I bought a Predictor and went to the factory to pick it up. Tower of power 115. Took that boat on my honeymoon. (Please insert double entendre here)

Yep, I think most of the members here started with a predictor or slightly larger sportfire. Those little metal flake hot rods get us all hooked. Would love to be able to get to the factory to pick up my boat, unfortunately it will probably have to be from refurbishing an older one versus picking up a new one.
