CLAUDE MABES

New member
Just bought B-Macs Starflight, only have deposit on it but hope to pick it up and tow her back to Jersey around Aug 16.Really looking forward to that and meeting B-Mac,seems like a great guy. I'm new to boating, I've built Hot Rods for about 35 years and also a couple custom Harleys. I hope to have as much fun with this boat. Claude Mabes

Thanks,I was looking at another C-mate here in N>J> that needed a lot of work, and came across his rebuild threads. When the boat came up for sale I jumped on it. I was really impressed with his work.

Congrats! I didn't post anything on Scream and Fly about his new choice of hull, but he's going to HATE that tunnel hull in the water he runs. Hydrostream tunnels are just not made for rough water, except for the Virage. He's gonna regret it...................

Yea I know JW...it aint a roughwater hull like Claudes new 'Mate but I'm tryin' ta keep up wit a fast bunch over there @ S&F. I used to run a Vector in this Bay (Stupid) but I think the 20' XT is a good compromise between comfort and performance. I'll just get a good kidney belt.......Claudes new 'Mate eats chop like pond water!! Congrats Claude!!! I've broke my butt on that boat & you got no, zero, nada worries.....run that baby like ya stole it!!!
Thanks fer' tryin' not ta' hurt my feelins' JW, but I know the tradeoff I made....comfort for raw speed. Just dont tell my wife, she thinks it's a "family boat HA!!!!!
Lookin' forward ta' meetin' ya Claude!!!
Again, Congrats & enjoy, I sure did!!!!

After ridin' HOT RODS all my life I'm goin for a little more of the comfort, I'm 56 never owned a boat B4 so 65-70 should hold me for awhile. In the meantime gotta get B-Mac the balance. Thanks again Brian!!!!! C.MABES

Finally got the balance to B-Mac and am going down to Sarasota on the 22nd. Looking forward to meeting Brian in person and get the starflite..."My Starflite" in the water. Spent the last week trying to coordinate the trip. Flight to Tampa, get picked up by a buddy who lives in St. Pete, then to Sarasota on Friday.B-Mac found someone to tow me and the boat up to Jacksonville where another friend will tow me back to Jersey and Barnegat Bay. Made it back from FLA 2am Wed morning with my new Mate in tow. Many thanks to B-Mac for his hospitality and lesson on driving the boat. Had it out in Barnegat Bay this weekend and had a blast. A little more seat time and be more comfortable @ 70. Still looking at GPS units,I kinda like the Garmann 2010C unit,if I can get a decent price on one. CLAUDE
