Anyone notice a change in ride quality with hydrofoil?

My Eluder never gets in the water without pulling kids on a tube/wakeboard/skis/kneeboard...., so I hate to say it but right now being able to pull water toys is more important than top speed. I was always teetering on the edge of planing/not planing at the exact speed my son wanted to wakeboard (around 19 mph), making good speed control a bitch. SO... I added a hydrofoil on my AV plate and it dropped my plaining speed by a few mph, now I'm easily on plane at the speeds the kids want and decent speed control is a lot easier. (Yeah yeah I know, I'm never gonna' throw a great wake with a Checkmate).

Anyway, it seems to me that I get a lot harsher ride through wakes and chop now (with the fin). I'm wondering if anyone else who's added a hydrofoil has noticed anything similar, or am I just imagining things?

A hydraulic jackplate will give you the best of both world. Bury it deep when you want to pop up on plane and go slow and raise it up to let the prop breathe and go fast.

We take them off any used boat we buy or trade in at work and opt to change prop pitch, switch to 4 blade prop, or install a set of trim tabs instead. A lot of times in a turn they will suddenly hook and grab which causes some funny steering.

In my boat I carry a 21 pitch for if we want to ski/tube because I know I'm not going to be running wide open and 24 pitch for cruising and WOT running
