Anyone try a 23p High Five?

Just wondering if anyone has tried a 23p High Five on a 21ft Pulsare br. I have a 250 Pro Xs, looking for a little better hole shot for skiing, wake boarding, tubing? I have already a 26p tempest and trophy, need a little more snap out of the hole.

Not a High 5 but a 23 Trophy plus with the vent holes mostly closed, and it works pretty well for waterspouts. Not sure how much difference between High 5 and trophy plus, but you will like a 23 pitch vs 26 for those activities.

not good from my viewpoint

I borrowed a high 5 and ran it on my starflite with a 200 merc on it, in my experience it was the worst prop for towing skiers as it blew out very badly on corners. I do a lot of slalom skiing and when making tight turns the prop would lose grip very badly. good out of the hole but I found that a trophy worked well for an all around prop, I think I ran a 21 trophy if memory serves me right.

Guess I've had a little different experience than seef. I currently have a 23 hi five on my starflite with a 225 Optimax and it rockets out of the hole. Haven't skied with it yet on this boat but loaded hole shot and cornering are great. My father in law runs either a 19 or 25 hi five depending on the load on his starflite with a 200 carb motor. I would say my hole shot with the 23 is better than his 19. Just keep in mind it's not a speed prop and won't handle well if you try to make it one.

I should've mentioned I did not have a jackplate on my starflite and the motor was mounted pretty high, i'd say prop shaft 2" below the bottom of the v at best. I'm guessing with a jackplate and the motor lower any prop will blow out less in corners.

Hey guys we have a '96 pulsare br with a Mercury 200 xri efi and have used a 23p high five prop for years. It's a great prop for tubing and wake boarding. It's great out of the hole and when turning it does not loose grip. My other prop is a 23p laser II witch is great for going fast but horrible with water sports blows out in the corners bad. I'll also use the high five if we have a lot of people in the boat it gets on plane faster and does not porpous like the laser does. I hit 75 mph with the laser and 68 on the high five using a garmin handheld gps.

Hole shot

When I had my 07 Vegas with a 300XS the hole shot was miserable. I had a trophy plus and believe or not it got better with a Chopper II or didn't get any worse and was faster. But what really, really, helped the boat and beyond my belief was a fin. I believe I bought a Stingray model or brand. It changed the whole boat and improved mileage some at cruising speeds. There are youtube videos on these. Ordered mine from Overton's. Just a thought!

I run a 23" High Five on my 2400 with 225HO. Holeshot for skiing is fine for most folks, I'm still looking for a little more, but that's not the props fault. It will hold plane down to 15-18 depending on the load and where folks are sitting. I run mine with three vent holes totally plugged and two with a medium hole plug in them. Mine holds fine in the turns as long as it's trimmed all the way down.
