Are Checkmate Exciters slooooow??? Jallen!

How stable do you guys feel the Exciters are at WOT? On my Enticer (due to single cable steering, I presume) too much positive trim makes my stomach fill up with butterflies- the boat gets a little squirrely on the pad. I got to have fun with that on the river Saturday!

Not all that different form any other pad-V I would think. They're fine when you get them set. I mean up on the pad. Like i said sometimes I can take my hands off of the wheel at w.o.t. My issues pertains to me (my experience w/pad-v's) and my boat. The most prevalent thing hindering optimal handling on my boat is the lack of solid motor mounts. Spinning a 26" big eared chopper probably doesn't help much. I used to run a couple of different Trophys, and they handled great, but just didn't run hard on the top. Hydraulic steering would, of course, help out tremendously I would guess. I will say that there is a significant difference running top end solo as compared to with a passenger. The boat is setup to be balanced with a passenger onboard.

Like I said earlier. I built in two battery trays during my restore. One port, one startboard. I moved my single battery setup from the starboard (driver's side) to the port side in search of a little "solo balance". I've been considering adding a second battery and may see if I can mount them both on the port side. I think I built the trays long enough to accomodate a pair of batterys/hold down brackets.

Here's a before of the original starboard side battery tray...

...and here's an after pic with the longer dual trays....
